I'm Patrick Connolly, a multimedia journalist with the Orlando Sentinel.
I'm originally from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. I’m a full-time staffer writing, photographing and making videos for the Orlando Sentinel. I’ve been making Central Florida feel like home for more than five years.
I’m a fall 2017 graduate of Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication. I previously interned for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Tribune-Review in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Ultimately, what photojournalism has taught me is that the camera can be an invaluable tool for getting into others’ lives and experiencing the world with a sense of curiosity. Photos and video are unlike many other mediums in that they transcend time, place and language barriers. For me, every day feels like a new adventure in heading out, meeting new people, and learning something new. And not just learning for myself, but getting to share those things and perspectives with others. I can't think of anything that would be more rewarding.
In my free time, I enjoy playing the trumpet, guitar or piano, taking bike rides and spending time in the great outdoors. And craft beer.
